Is that the logic people have today? Have you people really stopped thinking straight? Are you that fucking stupid?
Since when did video games = world problems such as shootings?
The massacre in Oslo, Norway: Doom and Quake were blamed for this massacre in the past. But WAIT! You might as well also blame Call of Duty, Modern Warefare and World of Warcraft since the murderer who caused the terrorist attack played those games in the past.
Connecticut Shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary: Mass Effect and Dynasty Warriors are now being blamed.
Really people? You're going to listen to some EXPERTS and the MEDIA about blaming video games? How gullible are you brainless imbeciles?
Did it also occur to you that perhaps those who shoot people IN GENERAL were probably mentally unstable, or just plain retarded that DID have sense anyways?
Video games don't make people mentally ill nor dumb, video games make people smarter. Games promote critical thinking on how to solve problems and get to the next level, story, etc.
It's how someone was raised, or how someone didn't want to be good to his/her family, or to people, that can have an impact. And someone could have wanted to shoot because said someone was either stealing, or protecting the one he/she loved for that matter.
But blaming video games for the world's problems...ha, you dumbfucks.
Yes, I know that many people don't blame video games for the world's problems, this stamp is for those that need to shut the fuck up and learn that video games aren't the world's problems.
I said it myself in a discussion on this, "If you leave your loaded guns out in the open and you have a mentally ill child, don't give them Grand Theft Auto 4 to play...or have anymore kids, since you don't understand gun safety at all..."
Oh this is so true. My younger brothers likes games like Call Of Duty and he's a perfectly normal teenager despite playing these certain games. Video games should not be blamed because of all the violence in the world.
I understand your side of it, yet there is more to this then mental illness or being retarded.
Video games are for fun, right? So, say, a 12-year-old was having fun shooting down citizens in Mass Effect or Dynasty Warriors. So, when he had to stop and go to school, he decided to keep having fun at school. He doesn't bring the video game. He brings a gun.
Too much computer or video games CAN cause mental illness. People get it into their head that they are being punished by getting off their system. They get pissed, and decide to show how much fun they have on the computer to society today. Yes, society is becoming a .
At Sandy Hook, the guy was probably a video game addict or computer addict. He probably loved killing stuff on the computer or game console, and his parents always pulled him away. He killed his mother. He killed 18 children. There are many sides to this, and we won't ever know. Technically, all sides are completely correct.
You are only saying he probably played video games. You can't blame video games when there is a chance that they had nothing to do it with! He did it because he was a crank. He hated America and loved his religion. I doubt Bin Larden played video games too. And what about the Holocost? There were no video games then, where your argument now?
Yes, it can make people become violent. But most of the time it is because they already had problems. Once one guy killed his parents because they refused to buy the new Call Of Duty game for him. But everything triggers people to kill. Dogs do when a couple is fighting who gets to keep it. Meat does when vegans go wild. Facebook does when someone unfriends them! I guess we better ban everything, it could make someone kill someone!
